Assessment of the Technical Issues relating to Significant Amounts of EHV Underground Cable in the All-island Electricity Transmission System Public Report November 2009

TEPCO has carried out the following studies in order to evaluate the effect of cable
installations on the NIE/EirGrid network:
Part 1: Evaluation of the potential impact on the all-island transmission system of significant
lengths of EHV underground cable, either individually or in aggregate
Part 2: Feasibility study on the 400 kV Woodland ï¿½ Kingscourt ï¿½ Turleenan line as AC EHV
underground cables for the entire length
Part 3: Feasibility study of the 400 kV Woodland ï¿½ Kingscourt ï¿½ Turleenan line as mixed OHL /
underground cable
