Prior to drafting this Plan, EirGrid’s biodiversity policies were captured in the Grid Implementation Plan (GIP) (2024) and associated Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Statement . The Wildlife (Amendment) Act 2023 subsequently required public bodies to consider biodiversity and report on the actions they take for biodiversity. This plan has been closely aligned to relevant Objectives and Actions outlined in Ireland’s fourth NBAP (NPWS, 2024) .
