EirGrid Submits Planning Application for Meath-Tyrone 400kV Interconnection Development

December 18, 2009: EirGrid submitted a planning application to An Bord
Plean�la under the Strategic Infrastructure Act for the Meath � Tyrone 400kV Interconnection
Development, which will facilitate cross-border sharing of electricity and ensure the long-term
secure supply of electricity for the North East.

EirGrid progresses 400kV power line projects to next phase

April 8, 2009 � Following a review of all project documentation, including consultants� studies, reports and consultation feedback, EirGrid has nominated one preferred route corridor for each 400kV power line project for further study.

Cavan to Tyrone 400kV overhead Powerline Project Distribution of Whooper Swan Feeding and Roosting Sites

The aim of this study was to determine the numbers and distribution of Whooper Swans within a study
area that includes the route corridor options for the proposed Cavan to Tyrone 400kV overhead
powerline. This study is ongoing to coincide with the season when Whooper Swans are present in
Ireland and will continue until April 2009 which forms part of Wintering Survey Period 2.
