In May 2009 the CER (Commission for Energy Regulation) published a decision paper on Standard Transmission Charges and Timelines (CER/09/077). CER/09/077 document sets out the standard transmission charges and timelines for some transmission assets to be used by EirGrid plc (EirGrid) when issuing offers for connection to the transmission system. These charges are updated annually to reflect the change in Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) as published by the Central Bank of Ireland.

This document provides a guide to rebalancing and is intended to provide a clear explanation of the issues addressed by SDP-04 initiative, introduce the concept of “rebalancing”, and explain the principles behind its application.

Getting Connected is intended to be a functional, customer orientated document to be used as a guideline to assist in the process of becoming a generator or demand customer with EirGrid. This document does not provide guidance in relation to offshore wind projects. The objective of this document is to give customers a sense of the structure and role EirGrid plays in the delivery phase of contestable projects, while giving an overview of the deliverables, roles and responsibilities of the customer themselves.
