EirGrid follows a six-step approach when they develop and implement solutions to any identified transmission network problem. The process and timescale of the East Meath to North Dublin Grid Upgrade project (hereafter referred to as the Proposed Project) is shown in Figure A1-1 below. The Proposed Project is currently at Step 4 – Where exactly should we build? To help identify the best location for the project, Step 4 has been divided into two sub-steps: Step 4A and Step 4B.
